And when you made no grunts of any kind
You were burying a loved one out of mind,
And you didn't eat the flowers found on your sites,
They were left for the dead to smell in eternal nights,
And you say you articulated love, hate, sacrifice, desire,
And that you possessed language, weapons, art and fire,
And that when you first met Homo sapiens in the Holocene,
You say you had a funny feeling in your spleen.
