This Shiny Night
I was waitingThis shiny night
To look into the light
You hold over me
A light that banishes to far off corners
The darkness of regret
And the cold shivers of lost times
Anticipating
This shiny night
The goodness and grace
That shapes your face
And pours into my heart
Driving out
The lingering doubts
Contemplating
This shiny night
Your footfall on the crunching path
And the joyful tapping
On the window pane
Then a swirling embrace
And first kiss of the day.
