Mate For Life
She said I no longer surprise herNot least , during furious rows
So i placed a fresh Cod in her wardrobe
Wrapped up in her favourite silk blouse
She later sneaked out to the garage
And loosened the nuts on my wheels
Then snipped through the brakes
Because thats what it takes
In order to show how she feels
The wire on the stairs did not snag me
Likewise the slippery hall floor
Removing the earth from the kettle
Was "accidental" for sure.
The weedkiller found in the Hotpot
Along with the usual stocks
Was of course, not her fault, as she reached for the salt
Which came in a similar box
I reminded her of the pledges
She made on becoming my wife
And asked her if she still loved me
She said "Yes... till the end of your life"
