lonely

who told them about me
pointed that finger in my direction
led that battle cry to charge

the blame game has to stop
and i must admit my folly
for i sought this end to ennui

but now the chamber is abuzz
backs are slapped and pearly whites shine
caricatures of cinched waists under swollen heads

i'm not forgotten in the least
and simple words draw chuckles
my health seems to be of interest
and its tough to slink off to the loo

so i watch the clock turn so slowly
and clap silently when they leave
and give calm and reprieve
