NOW I'M NO SOUPER CLEVER POET!
I'm just a writer, who words appears in verseThen changes in a form of prose, and back again
I'm a poet by my conditions, that make me so!
Some on remark, kindly, that reading my work
Remind her of Walt Whitman!
Now I'd never came across, Walt Whitman
Never till then even heard of the American poet
Yet I understood the man, the poet - the writer
Old Walt saw, beauty in the genders that he saw
Wrote of just what he before his artist's eyes
While I listened to a radio news story on the writer
She, the woman, had paid, given me a great honor
I trust old Walt, does not mind to, much, us being likened!
Now, I know there are some poets who, seek the limelight
Perform, bath in the applause, when standing before a mic
Me, I crave to be read, no more than that
I do not have face for video, nor the voice for audio
Me, I just sit and type, let the reader, '' see me ''; '' hear me in my words ''
That's me folks! A more a versealater, than a poeter!
