Weeds

Weeds are unloved flowers
With vulgar Latin names,
Invading balanced borders,
Popping up in pristine patios,
Creeping into immaculate beds,
Seeding with no control or consent:
Behold the uninvited garden.
Some people like to remove
The unloved flowers with
Vulgar Latin names,
But I turn a blind eye
And wait for the levelling
Winter to dead-head.

The term, "weed," is so nasty and injurious as any of the slang terms for human minority groups. Dandelions and clover are weeds, yet both dress up what otherwise would be boring, monochromatic lawns.

Bravo, Chris! weeds to many, but to some, weeds have a use, they find within them!
