at the park

across the way   beyond the diamond

i see a young woman

sitting on a yellow and white striped beach towel

which she has spread on the grass   it looks like

she is sketching

i watch the kids play baseball   i like the sounds of the game

i like the dynamics of the park   i come here often

an older gentleman   a regular   stops

to chat with the young woman before continuing his walk

i watch the kids for another inning or two

the young woman

has put down her sketchbook   she is lying on her back

her hands are folded beneath her head

the sky is blue and cloudless

Another point of view... At The Park
We all bring ourselves to this scene; you the writer, the characters, and we the readers.
Isn't it true, we put or project ourselves into other's lives, our experiences, thoughts, feelings, etc. and all affect just what and how we react to what we "see" in these situations. I just read OTP's titled the same. This is a brilliant idea and I am so glad to have the chance to partake of its goodness.
As Tai used to write, "Smiling at you." kathy

This is nice, a fresh perspective on what One Trick Pony described.

Such a dreamy, quiet afternoon. I like days like that. And, a nice follow up to otp.

Simple pleasures well observed, I feel the stress dissipating. I'm lucky enough to have a lovely park nearby I visit regularly.
