Adventures---
her consumption wasplanned: rather like wood floors and
a new beginning.
he consumed her with
aggressive starlight, and she
remembered it all.
there was hot distrust
and cool, gentle mending of
past, lingering wrongs.
she did not know what
she really thought about him:
but, in that moment----
she felt beautiful,
and his hands in her hair said:
it is all okay.
she believed him with
the physicality of
tongue and teeth and lips.
the stars said to her:
please forget. please remember.
and he gently said:
"i am so sorry."
she smiled and let him drink
her moon-beam cleanness.
"it's all okay," she
repeated into the dark.
and she wanted to
be most beautiful
rather like venus hanging
over his shoulder.
proud and afraid, she
acquiesced into the grass----
and, for once, she lived.
