In January 2017, I wrote this tribute to close the cycle of his presidency.

FAREWELL THE PRESIDENT OF PRESIDENTS

Be they gods or men
They attest
Above ocean of birth and death
They attest

We said
We could
We did

Haloed elegance of my presence
Invites audacity of hope
Awesome thunder in my voice
Ignites flame of dream
Piercing blackness in my orb
Like lightening penetrates
Penetrates recesses of silence

Remember...
I am iron-lion born
I am Barrack
I am Obama
I am Black

Farewell
This dear stage, farewell
Welcome
Sweet bitter dirge, welcome

What? No tribute to his "whiteness"? May I remind you that he is not the first American "Black"President. He is half black and half white, like our twin grandchildren.
