Friend by M.A.Meddings
The enchanted allure of her beautyHas gladdened my poor heart today
So that I forgetting my duty
Am so lost whilst she is away
And in the very still of the evening
When quiet descends on this scene
I await the sweet joy of her being
As if in paradise I had been
Then enraptured sounds of her laughter
As my happiness she seems to invoke
Has lifted my heart here on after
As she kindly laughs at my jokes
I am helpless for all of her loveliness
Yet so protective and care for her happiness
