Ablutions Afloat

Life on a boat simplifies I think
Returning to a fundamental vein
Dishes washed by hand and sink
Bathing a sponge bath in the rain

Clothes take on a utility style
Fashion dictated by weather's whim
Oilskins shorts or au natural
At anchor cruising or setting trim

Bedding is aired at sunny times
To keep it fresh and free from mould
Hung from halyards booms lifelines
A patchwork mobile to behold

Washday is a serendipitous plan
Based on weather and demand
If Tropic squalls mar the day
Wet laundry's the price I'll gladly pay
