contractual

here we are in domestic

tranquility   and

all i can think is   how did this

happen   when did we stop

dancing   and

come to spend our evenings grading

papers   watching movies   going

to bed early and

sleeping   of all the silly

things   is this the contract we

negotiated   the

terms seem harsh   i want more sun

shine   music   wine   passion   marketa   and

less domestic tranquility

This poem conveys a lot of frustration, with contrasts that are well drawn. The merry mossops recommend committing to a date night now and then. 'Yay!' :>)

this makes me think that the domestic tranquility that settled isn't the true issue... to me it speaks of a loss of communication between the partners... 'cause this partner feels like something is missing (or so I interpret)... that is the dagger in the heart I would think. Beautiful words, as always... I'm left deeply contemplating the situation.

The domestic tranquility was in the fine print of the contract and we are usually too excited at the moment to read it. However, I am sure it can be renegotiated.

I think that's what is fun about being part of an ex-pat community. Because we are few and foreign, we stick together and party more, plus the sun and the beach, but there's also lots of domestic tranquility as well. It's a choice.
