If I could by Ann Wood

If I could...

If I could see you again briefly
if I had a chance to embrace you once more,
to touch with my lips the expensive person,
to feel to my heart.
But I only have memories and meetings in late dreams,
I have only them, but they are not enough.

If I could only become a part of your world for a moment,
so far, but so familiar
if I could have been with you a little,
to hear your voice, to hear your laughter ...
Knowing that my hands at night are not alone,
stretched to you because you are there.
There you are somewhere, far away
I close my eyes, I see you with my heart,
and on my lonely night, it hurts me less.
But in the morning I'm alone again,
only if I could have lived in my dream.

This is so relatable.
My favourite lines are the two before the last two.
