And so I liveTo tell another tale.
A new hip,
A new life.
I feel the hand
Of the gods,
I feel as lucky
As a jackpot winner
In Vegas.
I feel no pain,
Morpheus rules.
My son gently
Awaits my return
From theatre.
My lover
Does not even
Call.
He has found a
New love.
Thirty years younger.
Same old story.
Men cannot resist
A new conquest,
Another notch
On the old bedpost.
The urge to procreate
Never fades.
Strangely,
I do not begrudge him.
Generations of women
Have borne the same insult
With dignity.
I feel their wisdom
Guiding me.
I know what
I must do.
