Prayer by Ann Wood
PRAYERI, the sinner, pray for hope-
not to easily destroy my soul.
To go where my heart leads me.
To be strong, even to be wrong.
I, the noisy, pray for insight-
to be wise, bright and good.
To learn more of humility
and to squeeze what the time is gathering.
I, the disobedient, pray for patience-
to wait long for my reward.
Touch God's favor with me.
To welcome him, the smile and the young.
