I have always found beauty and serenity in imagining scenes and locales. This is one I visioned long ago. My apologies for my stilted French. I don’t use it as often as I should and rarely in conversation.

une visite de l'après-midi d'été à l'église en Provence

French white lace
Finely done hand work
In the old style
Drapes her shoulder
Over a silk embroidered
Dress of azure blue
To cover her white hair
Flowing free in the sun and wind
As she enters the old shadowed walls
The pervasive scent
Of lavender
To light a candle

Ah mais oui, j'ai été attiré par le titre :) And it was a nice read... I imagine a graceful person in this woman. I really enjoyed where your words sent me to... Thanks.

Exquisite! I could write more words but they wouldn't better describe my feelings about this poem than exquisite.

Beautiful pace, graceful but not overly precious diction, skilled exposition of what your mind beheld! I'm really taking great joy in your poems of late.
