I wrote this saga years ago in instalments and never finished it. I'm going to try this time so I'll post it all in parts as I did before but this time continue to it's end. Ride along if you dare!

Part I The Laird Jake

70 feet from bowsprit to bumpkin
Canvas that would shame a bosun
But he's all I've got and proud am I
That he still sails true full and bye

At first appearance a schooner rig
With square sails set some call him a brig
A handsome rogue none would doubt
A proud vessel of high repute

His heart is in a rollicking reach
Canting the decks beneath
My feet as he rolls his massive beam
"There's the Laird" ladies scream

But now close on the midnight watch
When the stars are but an indigo swatch
Jake's path is as dark as the moonless sky
It's a fierce business we're about to try

But more of this on another shout
ready me boys now come about!
