Just a few quick thoughts on Veterans.
Blood, tears, and violence
We share in a battle cry
Who knows who is the next to die
Things look so different
A million miles away
That safe little bubble
You knew as home
Seems farther every day
Staring deeply through the night
Your vision is not the same
When you're staring through a sight
Target: you don't know their name
A rifle is not enough
In your own personal hell
So you angle out your mortar
And drop another shell
Many have gone before us
Braver than you and I
Risking everything they have
While their families do cry
Please remember our veterans, give one a hug, talk with one about the past. There are many World War 2 Veterans passing away every day...I think I read somewhere near 1,500 or more.
