Inspired by the new book I'm reading
~L.~
into the black, star less sky,
Devouring, hungry, red flames
wave and jump high.
A tall, thin, shadowy mounted figure is
Silhouetted, sat still, upon the hill,
Watching intently the chaos unfold,
The fire forbodes a feeling of coming ill.
Alarm sirens, Men's shouts, women's cries
and children's wails fill the air,
Hanging like mist is a cloud of dispair
Crumbling chars of blackened wood
fall to the ground
The city has fallen,
destruction now rules the
once profitable town.

~L.~
Fallen
Towering, dark grey smoke billowinginto the black, star less sky,
Devouring, hungry, red flames
wave and jump high.
A tall, thin, shadowy mounted figure is
Silhouetted, sat still, upon the hill,
Watching intently the chaos unfold,
The fire forbodes a feeling of coming ill.
Alarm sirens, Men's shouts, women's cries
and children's wails fill the air,
Hanging like mist is a cloud of dispair
Crumbling chars of blackened wood
fall to the ground
The city has fallen,
destruction now rules the
once profitable town.
