yellow

a color for every mood   and not just

a color   but a shade   a hue   even a hint   green

for example   may be the green of spring   or

jealousy   or a forest green   while red may be passion

or simmering   or the rust-red of dried blood

today is a day for yellows   because this day lacks

sunshine   it is gray   myriad shades of gray   which

turns me inward   so i dig deep for hues of

sunshine   finding it where i may   in the yellow stripes

of my beach towel on the shelf   in the little

flowers on our sheets   but looking around i see

few yellows   so close my eyes and conjure a

day at the beach   hot sun   yellow towel   you   me

and walking by   a vendor selling slices of pineapple

Your fourteen-line poems are so much like fingerprints. No two are ever the same in shape or rhythm or topic. This is a wonderful exploration of yellow, and you've ended with the object (slices of pineapple!). Bravo!
