i may not play the flute well   but i play

mozart

fauré

bach

gluck

handel

beethoven

pessard

goddard

mendelssohn

bolling

i began at ten with the elementary school band

not well   it's true   but earnestly

i carried on beyond my school years   the skill it takes

to play bach's suite no. 2 in b minor for flute and piano is considerable

the fingerings range from difficult to impossible   (for me)

the tempos within the suite are

grave

allegro

allegro ma non troppo

andante

back to

allegro

moderato

allegretto

finally ending in

allegro

i have learned dexterity   timing   breath control   tongue and lip control

the flute demands these skills

skills which serve no purpose beyond the flute   yet

marketa insists that they do

I didn't know you played the flute. I like the litany of composers and the tempos. The last line is touche! Overall, a good meditation on music.
