Varanasi

Chanting and incense open the streets heavenly
beliefs and rituals show union
flowers dance through the river of communion
Lord's guidance talks peacefully

Shiva and Ganesh, Pavarti and Durga
Kali and Vishnu, Brahma and Buddha
I kneel to bow to the divine mercy
God's hands named Varanasi
Cosmos called Varanasi

Ganga is a witness of faith and compassion
Ashes that say goodbye to this region.

Lakshmi and Shesha, Saraswati and Hanuman
Krishna and Rama, Sita and Shakti
Dharma and Tantra are practised by a man
That leads to Varanasi
That shows us Varanasi

At Dashashwamedh, I'm beseeching
The universe for the right path
Guru, guru Ramdas guru I'm chanting
Taking away my fears and wrath
