Notice how the cadence deteriorates, just like the boy's mind.

Unwanted Wishes

And suddenly everything stopped,
Sound and life, one day, ceased,
Hands mid-air, mouths open like fish,
It had come true, the sad boy's wish,
Which sad boy, ask not my friend,
For many such wishes lie dormant,
Just that this one had come alive.

I looked around the world so quiet,
The sun was high in the sky,
Yet it it felt as if it was midnight,
All alone, I sat in a desolate corner,
For alone, I've always preferred to be,
Away from noise, away from eyes,
Away from people who persecute me.

But my mind was still beating fast,
Pulsating through my body hard,
Was it the people who were bad?
Or was it myself that I feared?
I bit my lip and clasped my hands,
And I whispered to the empty air,
"This is not what I really want"
