Unbetrayed
Walking, nay, strolling along
sandy, sea-shell covered, downward leading paths to deserted, tall, steep cliffs of green and brown colour,
fallen to the knees, her emotions threaten to overwhelm and smother,
her in a thousand cascading crystal tears,
their falling signals the release of pent up frustration and fears.
Along the cliff’s top howling is the wind, at the rocky bottom crashing are the waves,
drowning in anxiety’s head crushing vice, no one is around to offer the emotional rescue she craves.
The cold of the storm hitting her is the most alive she’s felt!
blown every which way by howling, mournful, wind,
like razor sharp needles, down begins the rain to pelt.
She just wants to feel emotionally alive again
her heart unbetrayed by one whom she called friend.
