Disabled by love by Ann Wood

DISABLED BY LOVE

I can fight wholeheartedly-
that sacrifice, that the victor is rigorous.
I'm in battles and wars constantly,
but smile and love disarm me.

On horseback I skip and wave a lasso-
amazon bold, with bow, quiver, arrows.
I tirelessly pursue my enemy,
when my home and children threaten me.

In sharp words, I use my knife
when I'm in a fight with an enemy.
I'm calm, I'm gentle with you, buddy.
And I'm getting kind, do you cross the threshold.

I choose a precise, elegant gun,
when they call me to a duel.
The clashes won the odds,
with a shot accurate I kill an enemy.

Human performance - with performances
with drama, crying and scandals.
Before the audience - formal applications
and we fight, without a foreign cause understood.

Weapons change hands frequently
in this never-ending battle.
Saying sorry is not easy.
Stop after saying a prayer.

In this rat, crazy, noisy, masquerade,
amidst these passions and tribulations-
a smile, a sweet word in this world
love suddenly makes you a warrior.

Love is great, true, magical,
and giving and taking everything.
Love - everyone needs it;
love so precious as a golden bird.

And then the lasso goes home.
The knife sinks slightly into the sheath.
The gun stands still.
And we go down the moon path.
