I’ve always valued my aloneness as a time to be savoured. This enforced endless isolated retreat is a thing of a completely different nature. However, I will make it work and be more whole for having accomplished it

Shelter In Place

I’ve lost my reason for being here
Days endless row to vanishing point
The sameness in predictable shards
Melancholy in myriad variations

Prayer daunts in both structured
Meditation and monographic thought
What was once cherished familiar
Is now elusive veiled transient

The need to be here is unquestioned
The rationale frostily clear consequence
To leaving deadly to myself and others
The tread of hopelessness shuffles

My Id is assailed by a formless dread
My challenge blunted by its ennui
With mighty force of primal resolve
I stand and set myself to right
