Comparing the current circumstance to WW2 is so wrong on so many different counts. The War and the coronavirus are two entirely different kind of conflict. People are dying but because of such vastly different reasons...

On the homefront...

The man on the TV said it's just like the war
Back in the dark days of world war two
A Fight against the tyranical states
When people had to do as they do

The front line today is on the hospital ward
Our soldiers, the doctors and nurses, it seems
Battling hard against this enemy unknown
Losing casualties within their own teams

Back then when it was our darkest days
We worked together for the common good
Today it is all about "man mind thyself"
Whilst our neighbours have run out of food

In the wartime years Bletchley Park broke the code
Now in the Lab scientists study DNA
Trying to understand the Coronavirus ID
And find a cure that would chase it away

We stay in our homes isolated from friends
Back then t'was our friends helped us get by
We hope that somehow we'll be free once again
And tomorrow we will watch "bluebirds fly"

This war is so different on so many counts
It is shameful to say it's the same
They pulled together so they all could get by
Today the stockpilers see it as some sort of game.
