My daughter by Ann Wood

My daughter's time will pass,
when I'm gone,
peace will come home,
it will be cool as winter ...
You will ask the time to return,
with the memory of a little girl,
you'll want to hug you again,
will you remember how much I loved you ...
You will return to our home,
but ... there's no door to open,
only silence will embrace you
and there is no one to talk to ...
Time will pass, it will come ... quietly!
The white birch will be in the yard,
in your memory, I will smile,
I'll have tears in my eye ...
Time will pass - it will ever pass,
pass dear, though rarely,
I'm still here ... and I'm gone.
Remember I love you:
Father.
