yesterday the wind blew and blew

a chill wind   

hint of the san franciso summer to come

i feared for the sparrow's nest

across the street

i needn't have worried   all is well

all is well   there is a phrase

that has taken on 

some gravitas   all is not well   but marketa

and i have peeked ahead a few years   we see

that the vaccine

we receive annually is effective   the anti-vaxers   

there aren't any   what we see is a new normal   life   

over the last few years   

has been whittled down to it essences   

what we once took for granted is appreciated

or it is eliminated   

we have learned what we can do without   

fortunately   wine is not one of them   colin and marcy   

recently married   are doing fine   

the business is thriving   colin's grandfather   

we would rather not speculate

it is a different world

more somber   a pall has been cast   the collective

psyche damaged   it will be the generation

being conceived now

that will learn of this in history class   class

being held in open   airy   sunlit forums

reminiscent of ancient greece

and where weather obviates that notion   something

yet to be determined will emerge   for some good

will come of this   

we are finding it difficult to imagine the particulars

we suspect that a san francisco summer

will still be chilly   that the wind will still blow
