Now hear this
Here comes our daily briefing,The science and the stats,
The clapping and the grieving,
The fiction and the facts.
At the lecterns stand the leaders,
The experts and the wise,
Pleading please believe us,
We do not tell you lies.
Each day they take the podium,
Field questions from the press,
No cause for pandemonium,
We'll sort out this viral mess.
They exhort us to be patient,
Keep calm and play the game,
The green shoots are latent,
To quit would be a shame.
And when the lockdown lifts,
Bells of joy will gladly ring,
Freedom and all its gifts,
Our governors will bring.
