I have seen it before by Ann Wood

I've seen it before. I know he's there
what you've always been looking for,
when you are infinitely quiet and alone,
and overthrown. But not broken…
When you darkened tired
of all the obligatory illusions,
from all artificial captivity,
from the pain of foreign words,
from severe sentences and expectations,
of thoughts - so disordered,
from restraint - not to complain,
to be strong, and to have time…
Although the world is in fear,
although buried deep,
I saw him already, and I recognized you.
You carry it within you.
The good.
