Lakeside Tranquility

Blossoming carmine leaves
Of twelve red maples
Keep me in stunned silence.
A scattering of golden flowers
Creates a winding pathway
Leading to a melancholic lakeside.
Lilies and orchids line the shore,
As a woman wearing a yellow chemise
Bathes in the water.
Above her, a dozen cattle egrets
Fly harmoniously together,
In the shape of a V.
The grass sways and bends
In favor of her beauty.
I hold a harp in my hands,
Playing in fellowship with nature.
The ground is moist and smells of fresh earth;
An earthworm applauds my paean to the sky.
I am grateful for this Day,
The prettiness of spring,
This peaceful moment,
And the serenity of the breeze.
I grow a blue hibiscus in my hand,
Then approach the lady bathing.
"Have this," I say to her.
"It is in praise of your loveliness
That it is given. You inspire me to create,
To live in happiness,
And to sit in the sunshine
Of this cultivated field.
You allow me to bloom
With the fullness of a panegyric,
And with the tender humility of a lamb.
My muse––my Amour––
Enough shadows can cover anyone;
You reveal me with your radiance.
In your Presence, I walk guided
By a divine and sacred candescence:
A heavenly light.

Be well, my love;
Remain as you are for all time."

A wind now carries me upwards,
And I am transformed
Into an aAwaking swan,
Ascending towards the clouds.
