Four statues

I am going to visit Stan Laurel
Grinning from cheek to cheek,
I am going to rub my hair like him,
And let the silence speak.

I am going to visit Eric Morecambe
Dancing on a windy prom,
I am going to smile in sunshine
And praise where I came from.

I am going to visit Victoria Wood
Warming the human heart,
I am going to be all northern
And bake a Manchester tart.

I am going to visit Fred Dibnah
Tall as a chimney stack,
I am going to get steamed up
And ride his railway track.

I'm one ahead of Larry. I've heard of Morecambe & Wise, through reading Stephen Fry. "The soap. It lathers not, neither does it float." And so on.

As always, your poems are prosodically, thematically, and humouristically quite satisfying!

An interesting group. I'd only heard of Laurel until now. Have a great time.
