After 3.5 months, I am back doing my work. The wildlife seems more abundant, the bird song is gloriously deafening and the flora seems to have thrived. It would seem nature enjoyed our absence far more than we enjoyed its.

Back to nature...

Back within my comfort zone
Amongst those I know so well
Somehow the feeling I should atone
For these months of utter hell

Forgotten friends that gained my trust
Familiar names lost in the fog of time
Get up to speed, I know I must
Yet the feeling is still sublime

Forced isolation that kept me away
Giving space and peace to them all
New life breathed into the world today
And at last answering Nature's call

Ecologists blood flows through my veins
Staunted only by Covid's threat
Here and now, the threat remains
But I must take what chance I get

I reciprocate the same feelings. After being locked in the house for nearly 4 months, going out is a strangely bewildering yet satisfying experience. You expressed it well in rhyme and quatrains. :)
