Those kinds of happiness.
Garden rêverie
Give me a garden surrounded
By lilac trees, where their scent
Wafts delicately through the air,
On a quiet sunny summer's day.
Give me little critters that visit
My garden, and gladden this
Pleasant rêverie. With squirrels
Enjoying peanuts set out for them.
Give me the chimpmunks, too.
How beautifully colored creatures.
How mesmerizingly agile they are,
With a quickness so remarkable.
Give me the abundance of birds
With their colorful panache,
And the hearty songs they share.
What a sight of lightness and joy.
Give me the neighbor's sweet cat
Which comes over for a little stroll
And stroke. And the baby raccoon
Which unexpectedly comes on your lap
When you're sitting reading a book,
Looking to acquire the peanuts
You're snacking on while on the deck.
Give me all of that; it'd be perfection.
