Not São Paulo

In the city or town I might say

The city awakens

The town awakens

A window opens

A man leans out

Smokes a cigarette

I am not Blaise Cendrars

I see nothing of the kind

I am not familiar with the works of Blaise Cendrars, but I can see you're kind of contrasting with what the novelist saw. I like the list of movements (and many things that happen) as the city/town awakens.
