Good bye August by Ann Wood
Good bye My AugustAugust whispered sad words
"I'm leaving, I won't be back until next year"
he ordered me to keep the memories between us
and let September embrace me.
He left quickly, riding the winds
flew away with the birds, kissed the sea
sighed heavily "If you can stop me"
Can you stop the child's games?
He did not go alone, he took it with him
in summer splendor and in July the days
he saw me sad but told me "you're fine"
so what, twelve moons ..
Not goodbye, but goodbye
"Until next time," I said with my eyes
August hugged me gently and whispered:
"I will find you happier than before"
