The sea by Ann Wood
THE SEASea, oh dear sea, after a long separation
so he locked me in his foam.
He stroked me gently, enveloped me whole
and as if a part of me stayed with you.
You were turquoise and fabulous white,
now meek, calm, now with big waves.
My body was cool and tender ...
He seemed to erase the bad days from me.
Stay away - with your birds,
among the quiet bay and the fine sand.
You still shine as if in my pupils,
in the collected mussels with a pearly sheen.
Robber of the sea, you steal from everyone,
a small piece of heart. and love.
The paths become alluring to you.
Everyone is ready to meet you.
