Working in a rather remote area my transport failed me. I had a long wait for my colleagues to come assist. Amazing how much more we notice when we have time to sit (and observe) and ponder.
Waiting, and watching.
Like water-colour diffusing onto a soak filled page
Crimson tones fill the shading sky
Hues of orange fade quickly to dark
Glimmers of starlight catch the eye
A setting sun that has gone home to rest
Leaving the heavens to a crescent moon
Such beauty and wonder of a deepening night
Drinking it in for it is gone too soon
In this shadowed veil the woodlands awake
for in our night is found their day
The creatures that dwell in this darkened world
Where cloaked darkness guards their way
A fleeting moment in the epoch of time
Forever caught in the memory's eye
Good fortune born out of bad luck, it seems
The artistry of a night time sky
