in a web of foul deceit
it itself had wrought

A spider spun, right from its rump,
A web of deceit: its name was Trump.

The poem captures the subject in a web. Beautifully, if that is the right word! Cheers, Peter

Love the conceit and the political edginess of the poem. An absolute joy to read. :)

Rob! What a pleasant surprise this morning; so happy to see you :) As for the spider here, I'd advise it to not stick around too long if it cares to not get squished! ;)
