While we all silo through this dreadful pandemic isolated from friends family and  communal life; just a thought on somehow putting that time to better use through the magic of authors of long ago.

A Pandemic Nostrum

Why sit alone and while away

The hours that at best will play

Sad dirges upon your memory

When this is done and far away

Instead think thoughts of lofty spires

Of visions grand and sights inspired

By Costain Dumont and Fenamore

banners unfurled in knightly lore

These treks along a heroes’ path

Imagines from Wyeth lithographs

Will  iridesce these dirgeful days

We struggle through in mournful maze

When this is done as done will be

Your visions  now in  memories

Still there to jovially explore

As these days fade to Poe epic lore

Many lovely lines in this enchanting rhyme. I cherish the proper names we find in the middle two stanzas, gives the poem a sharpness and a specificity ... and I love the verb "iridesce"!
