Sometimes you just have to write to see the end result of verse on paper (or screen for you technology folks)

Wordsmith Itch

I could write of momentous tomes

Monologues spoken in golden tones

That trumpet down the halls of time

Or speeches that bend paradigms

I could write of bumble bees

Winter scapes or cosmic mix

Roiling waves and raging seas

To ease my pressing wordsmith fix

Instead I write to ease this itch

By placing words stitch by stitch

To knit this pleasant tapestry

My joy  to speak to read to see

A handsomely wrought lyric. And I'm with you! I have to get a poem "out there" and seen by at least one other pair of eyes for me to know what needs tweaking or fixing or changing or cutting.

You keep the measure well in this poem. It has a heartbeat!
