Woman in Winter

I had forgotten

The blinding light

Of sun on snow

Late afternoon

Facing west

Her silhouette

by shadow

Elongated

As a Lladro

Figurine

Fox Fur trimmed

Hood beaded parka

radiant face

Lost to sun

And shadow

Smiling in my

Heart her laughing

In my ears

Sound pierces

Dead calm

Running lightfooted

Hard pack dusting

Stray snow flakes

Iridescent lifted

By her mukluks

Arms invite an

Old man in to

An embrace

That steals

A withered

Heart
