you made flames look inviting

to me, it's such a silly thing
that you are under the impression
i would go out of my way
to find spare hearts and leave you guessing

i'll be the first to admit i have many flaws
but i take no pleasure in deceit
there's no more room in my heart, you have it all
i wouldn't risk what we have for anything

when you entered my life, my bed got softer,
my cheeks found color, my bones got stronger
i knew i would have to fight tooth and nail for the rest of my life
because suddenly it became very precious to me

because in the morning, you would be there
and at night, you'd curl up under the blankets
the world wasn't as cruel as i thought it was
the sky had stars and you had air in your lungs

"what a beautiful world we live in"
you made flames look inviting
"you are my world, my life, my soul"
you made me want to get better so together we could grow old
