Where do birds go to die

They abound in millions

Yet rarely do it spy

A dead one on the ground

Do they live forever

Except those few

Who die in view 

because they failed 

somehow

Or is there a place

Where old birds go

And someone there

To to ease their death

Somewhere free from 

Human intrusion

Where they die in peace

Without the world’s gaze
