The common mug
There’s a pewter mug on the shelf
Bound with hempen tasseled cords
Used to quench thirst for oneself
And others should the need accord
The vessel ancient to what degree
I know not but no serious matter
A token from before bourgeoise
Folks back then cared a smatter
The simple act of sharing a mug
Quenching the need of common thirst
Given freely no thought no shrug
Just latent goodness of others first
