People fascinate me. I watch, I study and perhaps, occasionally, I learn from them. What secrets do they hold? I may never know or I might just know a little of their back story too. Perhaps if we did know, it would make such a difference.
Hidden behind the smiles
For those that know me it may be said
My back story is an open book
The trials and tribulations of life
On display for all to aknowledge
But those that know me don't see my thoughts
Those innermost secrets I keep
Times since gone that my mind retains
Memories to hold, to cherish, to weep
Then those that know me, know only half facts
They "share" my pain but can't possibly feel it
None of them speak of those long gone days
The future is brighter because I make it be
Those who knew fully are no longer around
Those still here know only of my losses, in part
Those who do care are forever with me
Those are the ones I hold close in my heart
