A lament to a little man.
All around me the deafening silence can be heard.
But who should sit there silently smiling?
None other than my treasured son -
Daniel
Many times I imagine your footsteps,
Quietly creeping around the world like an explorer.
What new discoveries will you make today?
How will the world appear to you -
Daniel?
As you grow older my innocent one,
The enchantment of today will slowly die.
And you will weep and know why,
For this is the journey we all make -
Daniel.
But do not despair my precious one,
The world for you may bring kindness and love.
All the greatest wealth on earth,
All that people have striven for -
Daniel.
I have said enough for today,
Now you must sleep and patiently wait
The bewitching hour.
You will be taken on a magic ride,
Your dreams will take you to faraway lands,
Worlds of peace where war is banned,
There you will live eternally -
Daniel.

Daniel
The hour is late, the night is dark,All around me the deafening silence can be heard.
But who should sit there silently smiling?
None other than my treasured son -

Quietly creeping around the world like an explorer.
What new discoveries will you make today?
