End Of The Line

(A Hobo's lamentation)

Come hell or high water
come rain or come shine
I jump on the freight train
to the end of the line

The days go by slowly
tomorrow is blind
The steel rails are humming
and the old wheels grind

They say it's all right
to live as you please
As long as you're down
on your bended knees

My clothes are ragged
my hair's turning gray
But I keep on smiling
at the end of the day

The songs are my wine
the words are my bread
I know days will come
when all’s done and said

Come hell or white angels
come rain or come shine
I jump on the freight train
to the end of the line

Truly lovely. Is it set to music? It has the sense of a song.

I found your lines to have such an easy flow, as in you make it seem so effortless, and it was really pleasant to read. I enjoyed the portrait of the character and their life as well, called to mind similar spirits I've met in my life. Well-written, thanks. Also, welcome back!
