and chocolate cake on my birthday

the little belly i'm getting from blueberry muffins and chocolate cake

and other such delights

the furnace and pendleton wool throw that kept us warm last winter

and will this winter

the warm place marketa leaves in the bed

when she gets up

flannel nightgowns

and sheepy slippers on cold feet

the tea cup

warming my hands between words

the pink sky through the kitchen window

telling me it's morning

some little thing will blow in
